I mentioned PPA, intl’s USB sound card in a tasty plastic shell in a recent post. It turned out to be a total piece of junk. In the past I’ve bought PPA’s Metal Gear Box (I’m sure Ocelot would approve) hard drive enclosure, which turned out to break. Not just once either, it broke a second time after I exchanged it for the same thing. Awesome.

Anyway, today the USB sound box in a tasty plastic shell started shutting off randomly during use so I made use of the Fry’s return plan, visited my local Comp USA which is liquidating their entire stock, and picked up the M-Audio Fast Track USB. Which definitely works fine.

Just serving out the warning from buying PPA, intl’s pacific rim dollar store trash.
