Sam, I’m not sure why you’ve said one thing, then done another. But in any case I think that people should read through what has been said and only then go and offer themselves to VMC/Volt. Or Nintendo for that matter, while I didn’t work for Nintendo, I interviewed to test there.

For one thing, Volt != VMC. There is a possibility (although slim) that a Volt contract is held at non-VMC facilities.
For another thing, I recommended people pursue the non-Volt job, which was the Nintendo position.
For a third thing, gamers who are pursuing an entry-level game testing position don’t have a lot of options. Is it worthwhile to put up with some garbage in exchange for some experience and an addition to the resume? That’s for the individual to decide.
Part of my mission is to aid new testers, and that means getting the word out regarding jobs. If they take my harsh words re: VMC as a warning, I feel like I’ve done my duty no matter what they decide to pursue.
Sure I believe in aiding new testers. However the only reason VMC/Volt get away with the shit they pull is because they have an infinite supply.
I realize we could probably never get acknowledged by most of the people that apply there, so maybe at least people who read your blog will inform others working there about it when they get their contract.
To be fair, Volt does handle contracts for a number of companies other than VMC, and from what I’ve heard Volt itself is as bad or good as any temp agency.
