GameStop Tournament Center
I was a little annoyed to read about this new ultra-GameStop, and not know where it was besides “San Jose”, or actually see it. Then I heard about it on the Cheap Ass Gamer podcast again today and was motivated to find it and take pictures.
Overall, this is the least dingy corporate game store I’ve seen, pretty good lighting and the only problems I saw were that there didn’t appear to be any seating for people playing the tournament games.
Before this store was overhauled it had a pretty nice section in the front with some couches and the standard kiosks to play at, so the lack of seating seems particularly heinous. Perhaps they’ll add some later on.
So here is the address, and the pictures are after the fold:
3600A STEVENS CREEK BLVD
San Jose CA, 95117 US
First some shots of the actual tournament center:
Donkey Kong and Solid Snake together?
Doesn’t make much sense to me, but OK:

Console games for sale, but where are the PC Games?
Oh there they are, hidden in the corner:

I just happened upon this post today, but the store’s having a grand opening celebration today at noon. They’re hosting a COD 4 tourney and giving 300 bucks to the winner. If nothing else, there’ll be free pizza.
hit it up. tell your friends.
