Excellent posting with great information. I also agree that accepting the offered item (beverage, haggis on a stick, whatever) is the polite thing to do. You don't have to ingest it, just accept it. The 'testing a stapler' question isn't so bad, as it will give some insight into your thinking. If they have a 'non-confidential' variant of the game available, that would always work best. Especially if they 'think' it is bug free, and you find something!

This is going to be a bit of the old buzz again, i remember that was widely accepted on the PS2, with this one though, i can see some problems if they turn it into an online networking tournement, could be a right mess. However, sony have come up with some good quiz programms in the past, will have to wait and see.

I have never encountered this problem with any of my teams.. But maybe it depends on how many people you are managing.
The reason why this has never been a problem for me is that I am close to them, they have respect for me, trust me, and feel that they can confide in me.
This has to be built up in time.

I was once told by my managers to not be such close friends with my teams. However, I did not agree with this and am doing so still.
It has never been a problem, and will rather prevent any problems.

good luck! :)

You can also just type part of their full name or email address in and after bug submission it will give you a list of matches to pick from. The AJAX autocomplete is coming in a future version, though.
